Most heating firms will not tell you what a service costs until someone has been out. JET Heating publishes the figures for the jobs that can honestly be priced in advance, so you can decide before you pick up the phone. Everything below is plus VAT at 20%.

Gas boiler service — basic
The annual service for a boiler in reasonable order: combustion check, safety devices, seals, pressures and controls.

Gas boiler service — full strip & clean
Burner and heat exchanger out, cleaned, reassembled and re-tested. What an older or long-neglected boiler usually needs.

Carried out under OFTEC registration — nozzle, filters, electrodes, baffles and combustion set-up.

The small print, in full
These are JET Heating Ltd's own published prices, reproduced from the business's price list. Every figure is plus VAT at 20%. Parts, and work outside the jobs listed here, are quoted separately and agreed with you before anything is fitted.
- VAT — every figure on this page is before VAT, which is charged at the standard 20%. A £99 + VAT boiler service is £118.80 to pay.
- Minimum charge — breakdown and repair work is charged by the hour with a one-hour minimum, so a twenty-minute fix costs an hour rather than a call-out fee plus labour on top.
- Parts — quoted separately and agreed with you before anything is fitted. Nothing goes in on the assumption that you will pay for it afterwards.
- Bigger jobs — boiler installations, system upgrades, shower installs and bathroom refits are quoted after a look at the actual pipework. They are not on this list because a price given over the phone for work nobody has seen is a guess.
Landlords
A certificate covering two appliances is £99 + VAT and each additional appliance is £25 + VAT. If you run several properties, ring and book them in one run — it is easier on everyone's diary.
